This test method outlines a recommended procedure for performing unidirectional load dynamic testing of self-lubricating bearings at room temperature, elevated temperature or sub-zero temperature, dry or contaminated with fluids. The wear data from these tests is to be used for qualification and to establish bearing design criteria. This revision clarifies and expands sections 3.1.1.3, 3.1.1.4, 3.2, 4.2, 4.3, and 5.3.2 in order to better characterize the high and low temperature test setup and procedure. There are also editorial corrections in 4.4 and 5.3.4.j.
