The chemically fueled closed Brayton-cycle power system is being evaluated by AiResearch for the United States Navy as an undersea source of electrical power. Two versions of this power system have been identified as particularity well suited to a typical 20,000 ft depth mission requiring 1000 kWh of electrical energy. System schematics and detailed weight and volume summaries are presented.
