The physical characteristics of thick film hybrid circuits are used as a basis to discuss the important concepts of product design, manufacturing strategy, and operation philosophy for the automated manufacture of hybrid electronics.This paper presents a general discussion rather than specific examples, or the results of a literature search.The important aspects of a highly automated hybrid microelectronics manufacturing facility are presented. The discussion will be limited to thick film hybrid circuits.
