This paper introduces an Arrhenius modeling approach for predicting lifetime of PS (Power Steering) rubber hose, one of important parts for steering system. PS hose would affect the durability and quality of automobile. First the temperature of power steering system is measured in order to investigate the driving environment of an automobile during driving. Moreover, the change of the mechanical properties extracted from power steering hose of automobile in traveling is measured so as to estimate lifetime. As the data obtained through the accelerated test, the lifetime prediction of rubber hose is performed with Arrhenius model. The lifetime is regarded when the uniform variation of initial characteristic value for a rubber hose at varied temperatures is happen and is predicted through the correlation work between the master curve of Time-temperature (T-t) and relational formula performed by material and impulse test.
