The effect of a number of lubricity additives on the performance and no-harm characteristics of low sulfur diesel fuel has been studied. The effectiveness of conventional versus novel products is discussed and the suitability of current bench test procedures reviewed. The results indicate that certain novel products can provide improved performance over conventional lubricity additives and that some conventional additives may suffer from problems of lubricant interaction.
