As performance of vehicles advances everyday, interest in the safety of vehicle also increases. Systems such as ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System), TCS (Traction Control System) and ESC (Electrical Stability Control) are the result of the interest in safety. ESC is one of the safety systems introduced these days. The hydraulic component of the system must meet many criteria. One of the key criteria is wheel pressure rise rate. The rise rate performance is depending on efficiency of piston pumps in the system. In this paper, the effect of a number of different piston pump design parameters is evaluated using CFD.
