Employment of the conjunction class mission for manned trans-Mars vehicle trajectory provides the minimum transportation time and the maximum surface stay time. This emphasizes the necessity of Mars mission activity category decomposition and draws much attention of Mars surface mission activities and the design of surface facilities. Based on the decomposition of Mars mission activities, this study demonstrates the Mars mission habitat design requirements and clarifies a set of First Mars Outpost elements and assumptions.
