A new conceptual and architectural design for a Higher Plant Compartment for a Closed Ecological Life Support System in a planetary settlement is proposed. The proposed HPC is transparent to make use of sunlight, adaptable to different cultivation modes and built with modules to facilitate reconfiguration and expansion.
