In order to obtain EURO NCAP 5★, it is essential to avoid the knee modifier (Variable Contact Modifier and Concentrated Loading Modifier). This paper, euro-type Instrument panel structure which can avoid the knee modifier was proposed, and CAE was performed for structural optimization. Proposed euro-type Instrument panel can cause the problems (the head impact failure, static load failure, idle resonance). In order to solve these problems and to account for these phenomena at the early design stages, CAE simulating tool was proposed and developed.
