The Naval Research Laboratory intends to launch a flight experiment designed to space qualify a Common Pressure Vessel (CPV) Nickel-Hydrogen (NiH2) battery on a host spacecraft. The CPV NiH2 battery has the potential to significantly increase the useable energy density over currently available rechargeable batteries. This paper will describe the CPV NiH2 Battery Experiment Electronics hardware, capabilities and interfaces with the host spacecraft's electrical power system.
