If negotiators from six international powers can finalize a nuclear deal with Iran by their self-imposed Jun 30, 2015 deadline, one of the first priorities for Iran after nuclear sanctions lift could be to re-equip its government- and privately run airlines with billions of dollars in new aircraft. But experts say revenue from new large oil exports could also enable Iran to rebuild its military, including its tactical, ballistic missile and unmanned air systems programs. For aviation companies, Iran's population of 80 million is an enticing market for civil and military aircraft sales and new airport constructions. Here, Butterworth-Hayes examines aerospace dollars and defense fears that are at stake in Iran nuclear talks.
