Bogie behaviour of high-speed trains in curves -- Selection of minimum horizontal curve radii - Within the framework of this article, the transversal behaviour of a railway vehicle moving at a constant speed of V >= 250 km-h whilst negotiating curves featuring large radii (Rc > 2,000 m) is studied. With the aid of mathematical models, minimum curve radii are defined for these circulation conditions and for various rolling stock characteristics. The results yielded by the mathematical models are then compared to those obtained by means of analytical formulae, which are currently applied by various railway authorities to calculate minimum acceptable curve radii.
