Recent efforts to upgrade conceptual design program ACSYNT have resulted in a study of methods for inlet drag prediction. These methods enable the drag of four different inlet types (the subsonic pitot, supersonic pitot, supersonic two-dimensional and supersonic conical inlets) to be predicted over the complete operating range of the inlet. The methods, which have been incorporated into ACSYNT, are presented here, together with sample applications to different inlet geometries.
