The operational requirements on Space Station Freedom (SSF) for supporting the Lunar Phase of the Space Exploration Initiative (SEI) are examined, and a concept is developed for carrying out these operations. Attention is given to the types of events and tasks that must be performed on the SSF to process the lunar vehicles, as well as to resources required for the SSF and the methods of meeting the operational requirements of the lunar missions. Critical technology areas and needs that must be addressed to enable lunar missions are also discussed.
