During the last few years, considerable advances have been made over the whole range of avionics in spacecraft as a consequence of the new ideas and experiences generated by improvements in technology, enlarged space programs and increasing spacecraft capability. This process has been accelerated particularly by the rapid progress in microelectronics. The technical symposium reviews the latest developments and discusses current and forthcoming systems that exploit them. Included are component technology, instrumentation, satellite/sub-systems, and satellite systems.
