The highway improvement project within Lewis and Clark County, Montana consists of reconstruction of the present two-lane U. S. Route 12 Highway into a four-lane facility. The largest impact would be to existing residences along sections of the project during construction due to a temporary increase in noise and air pollution, and other temporary inconveniences associated with the new construction. Tangible project benefits will accrue due to the faster, safer and more economical transportation available upon completion, as well as the enhancement of residential and neighborhood character.
