This scientific correspondence describes the author's involvement in two ship shock trials and the on-site Marine Animal Recovery Team (MART) that the Navy conducted on the USS John Paul Jones in June 1994. The authors were involved in the preparation of a request for a letter of authorization for the ship shock trial and in the on-site MART fielded to monitor the test area and to respond to any accidental marine animal casualties coincident with the trial.
