The objective of this investigation was to evaluate a method of displaying information which permits rapid transmission of flight data to the operator under three viewing conditions: (1) day flights with the unaided eye, (2) night flights with the unaided eye, and (3) night flights using the AN/PVS-5 night vision goggles (40 deg field of view focused at infinity). Information obtained from the analyses of aviator performance data demonstrated the potential of presenting flight information to the aircrew via prototype displays for all viewing modes. (Author)
