The random disturbances which act on a spacecraft in the atmosphere as well as the divergence of initial conditions of spacecraft entry into the atmosphere cause considerable dispersion of the coordinates of its landing point, particularly at entry speeds beyond orbital velocity. Under these conditions, the utilization of traditional linear laws for stabilizing the center of mass of the spacecraft to isochronous variations of parameters of programmed travel may not guarantee pinpoint accuracy. This forces us to turn to other, more effective methods of control. The presence aboard a spacecraft of a navigation unit and a computer, with the aid of which it is possible to continuously determine parameters of motion and to shape the control signals from rather complex algorithms, facilitates the use of parametric control programs, when the programmed trajectory is assigned depending upon a certain kinematic or dynamic trajectory parameter.
