The report describes two different methods to calculate the combined effect of different air-defense systems on a single ship. The result is a probability for the ship to survive an attack of surface-to-surface or air-to-surface missiles. The two methods are one manual method and one method using the model Rogov. The report focuses on the need to develop the methods for combining the effect from different systems, with emphasis on the need to model electronic warfare components in the same scenario as guns and missiles. The need to develop the models of command and control systems is discussed. Models of different components in air-defense systems are needed in wargaming assessment, evaluation in procurement studies and in analysis of events and exercises. The suggestion is that current models are updated and new models are developed with the aim of creating a library of models and methods for evaluation of air-defenses.
