The report, which is the third of the Coastal Transport Studies, covers local sea and river transport and has the character of a pre-study. It reviews transport demand, operations, ports and other infrastructure and presents preliminary recommendations on type of vessels, shipbuilding, organization of the subsector and transport policy. The report also includes an assessment of economic and other aspects of local sea and river transport. Follow-up activities are outlined and draft terms of reference for the main study are attached.
