A biaxial positioning platform is described which has been designed for pointing small space flight experiments at the sun from an orbiting satellite. The mechanical features of the gimbal system and the electronic circuitry used to control the moving parts are described. Pointing accuracy achieved with typical satellite behaviors is better than 1 min of arc. Average power demand is less than 5 W. Successful orbital operation over a 3-month period from an earth-oriented satellite has been obtained and is described. (Author)
