An assessment of the capacity of 21 small and non-hub commercial service airports was made using the Annual Service Volume calculations for long range planning documented in the Federal Aviation Administration's Advisory Circular 150/5060-5: Airport Capacity and Delay. Existing capacity was based on the current runway layout of each airport. Future capacity was based on the 'ultimate'runway configuration identified in each airport's Airport Layout Plan. Capacity was compared to the demand at each airport for the years 1970, 1975, 1980, 1984, and for the forecast years 1990, 1995 and 2000. Both airport master plan forecasts and Terminal Area Forecasts were considered. The demand/capacity ratios for each airport are analyzed in comparison to recent average annual rates of growth and forecasted rates of growth. Results of the analysis are presented in graphic and tabular format. Airports expected to reach 60 percent of their planned Annual Service Volume by the year 2000 have been identified.
