Several different methods of calculating, respectively, the geostationary radius and the semi-major axis of the geostationary orbit are presented. Considering only first order perturbations due solely to J2, the geostationary orbit turns out to be a circle where the position of the satellite is always at the perigee of an osculating ellipse which rotates with the angular velocity of the earth's rotation. The Keplerian elements of the osculating ellipse were calculated.
