The volume describes the Objective System which has resulted from fine tuning variations to GOLF (R) to make it more viable and cost-effective. GOLF (R) was selected as the most cost-effective candidate based on analyses and evaluations reported in preceding Volume IV. The fine tuning variations and the cost-effectiveness evaluations, accomplished during the government-selection portion of the study, are in supporting appendixes. Other appendixes include equipment characteristics, single channel net structure, and the Army Security Agency system. The System Evaluation Process, developed under Task XV, has proven to be useful in the selection of the Objective System.
