The FAA, in conjunction with users of the major airports, is conducting a series of site specific case studies as to how to increase airport capacity--both now and in the future when the products of the FAA's Engineering and Development (E and D) program have been implemented as part of the operational ATC system. This document presents estimates of changes in longitudinal spacing on final approach that may be realized as the products of the E and D programs become available. It also discusses the potential for reducing interarrival errors and runway occupancy time. The parametric values presented are to be used by the FAA/User Group Airport Case Study Teams in assessing the potential impact of future airport/ATC changes on delay/capacity. Certain parameter values related to the estimation of present day delay/capacity are also presented. This paper provides minor changes from FAA-EM-78-8, April 1978, 'Parameters of Future ATC Systems Relating to Airport Capacity/Delay'. It supersedes FAA-EM-78-8. (Author)
