The flight instrument is utilized to determine the direction of a jet stream axis. The jet stream is used to add to the ground speed of the aircraft. A pair of Pitotstatic tubes is used, one on the outer tips of each of the wings. The relative air speed of the two tubes is measured and compared to determine the point which encounters the higher air speed, indicating the direction of the stream.
