The design, breadboard implementation and functional testing of a Digital Flight Data Recorder/Monitor prototype is reported. Microcomputer interfacing to Magnetic Bubble Memory and a digital data bus was accomplished. The microcomputer is to be used to collect and analyze flight parameters and record only significant data for later use in an accident investigation or maintenance debriefings for accident prevention. The Magnetic Bubble Memory is the nonvolatile recording media. The digital data bus interface to the IEEE 488 instrument bus will allow operational testing of the recorder on an aircraft equipped with a complete data acquisition system. (Author)
