The 1972 Federal-Aid Highway and Mass Transportation Act of 1972 proposes continuation of the Federal-Aid highway program with a series of very fundamental changes in the Federal programs for funding highway construction and urban mass transportation facilities and equipment. It will allow State and local governments to decide their transportation priorities and will be financed through the Highway Trust Fund. The adverse affects anticipated include those associated with any transportation system: pollution, relocation, and undesirable land use.
