In July 1972, an environmental statement for the NASA Space shuttle program was issued. This subsidiary action proposes to establish for the program a main engine component and subsystem test site at Air Force Plant 57 at Santa Susana, California. Existing facilities, equipment and systems provided under the Apollo Program are capable, with modifications, of supporting the testing requirements. The potential for adverse impact on the surrounding communities is small.
