A literature and equipment survey resulted in the selection of a high gas velocity chemical spray scrubber as the method for cleaning toxic products from rocket exhaust gases. The study included application of this type of system to 1,000-, 5,000-, 50,000-, and 250,000-lb-thrust rockets. A pilot model system was designed (and specifications and drawings were prepared) for a 5,000-lb-thrust rocket engine. (Author)
