The study investigates and assesses the viability of a refrigerated port storage facility in the Port of Puerto Cortes, Honduras; for fruit and vegetable produce, and meat and seafood products. The study covers agricultural production, climatic conditions, inland transportation, refrigerated port storage buildings (expandable), support for the project by the Government of Honduras, and the impact and coordination of the USDA; US/AID; Government of Honduras Offices & Ministries, Port Authority; and Honduran and U.S. private sector companies and agencies. The Definitional Mission has recommended a TDP grant to finance the cost of the proposed feasibility study. The report describes the detailed process for the selection of a qualified U.S. consultant to carry out the proposed study.
