The analysis of aircraft fuselages with cutouts is a problem of continuing interest to aircraft designers. In this document, a correlation is made between measured stresses obtained from an experimental structure with a large cutout and computed stresses obtained from the Fuselage Force Analyzer Program (FUSARG). Correlations are made for stringer, skin panel and frame stresses at selected bays in the structure. Particular emphasis is given to the correlation of stresses in the immediate vicinity of the cutout. The computed and measured stresses correlated within five to ten percent in most major stress areas. Exceptions to this occurred in localized regions near the corners of the cutout where stringer bending stresses are high and in the outer fiber stresses in the frames adjoining the cutout where large shear differences are transferred from skin to frames.
