The Office of Inspector General (OIG) has identified nine top management challenges for the Department of Transportation (DOT) for fiscal year (FY) 2008. The traveling publics growing concerns about aging transportation infrastructure and increasing air travel delays will demand special attention from DOT in FY 2008. Key actions will include balancing funding needs to repair or replace aging systems while expanding capacity and determining requirements to advance new technologies and viable oversight structures.
