The thesis evaluates the effectiveness of the Air Force replacement criteria using the sedan, station wagon and pickup truck as sample vehicles. The thesis compares the Air Force vehicle replacement methods with programs used by various commercial activities. It also evaluates the effectiveness of the replacement criteria 'age' and 'accumulated mileage' through multiple regression analysis and statistical tests. Results indicate that accumulated mileage is a valid consideration for replacement, but that the age of a vehicle does not provide adequate justification for replacement of that vehicle.
