The primary purpose of this flight was to evaluate the performance of an Atlas missile when the guidance and discrete commands are performed by the all inertial guidance (AIG) system operating closed loop. Another first order objective was to recover the re-entry vehicle and evaluate the heat shield performance. Detailed objectives are listed along with comments relative to the degree of satisfaction of each. (Author)
