UK MOD (PE) identified Ada as a single preferred high level language for the implementation of defence real-time operational systems. UK MOD (PE) decided to invite proposals for the High Order Language Demonstrator (HOLD) to examine the applicability of Ada to aero gas turbine FADEC. The work carried out to date is described.
