One of the main factors contributing to road damage is the dynamic loading applied by the tires of heavy vehicles to road pavements. The main objective of this study was to investigate the effects of pertinent vehicle and road characteristics on the magnitude of dynamic tire forces generated by a two-axle truck under a variety of road and vehicle operating conditions. The test variables included the vehicle's suspension type, tire type, tire inflation pressure, travel speed, axle static load, and road roughness.
