The problem of transporting space hardware from earth to orbit utilizing reusable logistics systems is addressed with the objective of determining the payload capacity of the vehicle which will minimize total system resource expenditures for a given annual orbital delivery requirement. A simple method for determining the minimum cost parameters of the transportation system is presented utilizing the Lagrangian multipler technique. Trends and sensitivities of the resultant solutions are discussed. (Author)
