The present and future of environmental change around truck transport and measures taken by such industry are arranged, and the future energy demand of truck transport is viewed. Since truck transport is higher in mobility than the other ones, it is indispensable for the future diversified consumption and advanced PD need, and it seems to increase with transport volume and energy demand. On the other hand, transfer to railway and ship transport is expected as optimum solution for transport rationalization. Although cooperative transport by consignor and transport trader is contributing to efficient transport, its future progress can't be expected because of limited fields and declining desires. In the future, cooperative transport will be mainly used for cost reduction and PD rationalization between limited traders or in single trader, and transport efficiency will be also improved with increasing carrying capacity by introducing larger trucks. However, the supposed future changes in approach to efficiency improvement and rationalization should be considered enough. 44 refs., 85 figs., 27 tabs.
