Three alternative gas-turbine cycles were examined for their potential to provide greatly improved marine propulsion (with particular reference to fishing boats): the direct-plus-inverted (DIC) cycle, the regenerated (CBEX) cycle; and the intercooled regenerated cycle (CICBEX).
