The Coilayer Vessel developed as a kind of multi-wall vessel are already put to practical use as reactors, converters, separators, heat exchangers, etc. In designing and manufacturing the Coilayer Vessels, full safety against various kinds of load conditions is required, in view of the important functions which must be fulfilled by these vessels in various plants where these are installed. An outline is given of various items related to the materials, welding, fabrication, strength, etc. in studies so far carried out in developing the Coilayer Vessel, with the purposes of clarifying its many characteristics as well as serving as reference data for people concerned.
