Finding the position of a ship with the help of radio beacons is one of the principal means in ship navigation. In certain instances this becomes the only means of position finding. However, the error configurations, obtained with radio beacons located at the extreme distances of their functioning, have very long sides. To find the position from an error configuration, it is necessary to take into account the RMS errors in measurements of the navigation parameters calculated during the actual observations. (Author)
