The 96th Avenue/Quebec Street transportation study was undertaken by Adams County, Commerce City, and Thornton to establish an integrated transportation network. The primary goal was to recommend a feasible alignment for each of the four study corridors; 96th Avenue, Quebec Street/Vasquee Blvd., Quebec Street/ Quebec Street, and Colorado Blvd./York Street. The study was divided into four major tasks: (1) Data collection consisted of collecting and reviewing previous transportation studies, utility information, drainage reports, etc. (2) Transportation system analysis involved the preparation of the year 2010 traffic volume forecasts for the study area corridors and calculation of level of service (LOS). (3) Typical section identification consisted of determining the laneage requirements for the study corridors at an LOS of C or better. (4) Alternative alignments analysis.
