The study used the 1974 crop year in the Pacific Northwest as a means of reviewing the structure of the existing transportation systems. Specific attention was paid to the production region of the Pacific Northwest, the tidewater terminals, other marketing facilities, and the independent modes within the total transportation system. Finally, the impacts on Pacific Northwest wheat transportation of potential waterway user charges, the Pacific Northwest Grain Case, Lower Granite Dam, and other emerging issues to futher describe the coming needs in transporting wheat were investigated.
