The report describes work carried out for the Director General of Transport, South Australia, to assess the unmet travel needs of disabled persons in Adelaide, particularly those who are wheelchair-bound. Specifically, the objectives of the study were to: (1) gain an understanding of unmet transport needs and of the forms of wheelchair disability in Adelaide, and (2) assist the Department in assessing the impacts of the proposed subsidized taxi scheme on the travel and non-travel activities of disabled persons and their households.
