The purpose of this work was to develop and furnish to the Army (USAAVLABS) a flexible-wing delivery system for all-weather airdrop of 500 pounds of cargo with both automatic and command homing capability. These systems are for use in military engineering and service tests. A detailed design analysis and trade-off was accomplished, followed by a full-scale wind-tunnel test program and flight test evaluation effort which resulted in the selection of a twin-keel catenary parawing, airborne control box, and suspension system. This final system was then tested for reliability and landing accuracy. This report presents the results and findings of the work accomplished. (Author)
