A 12 percent thick natural laminar flow (NLF) airfoil is designed for an unmanned aircraft for reconnaissance and target acquisition roles. This airfoil is compared with NACA 64, -612 airfoil of same thickness. NAL airfoil, designated as NAL-NLF-120, has given better performance than NACA airfoil at the design conditions. For that matter in the entire range 0.4 less than or = C sub L less than or = 0.8 NAL airfoil performs better than the NACA airfoil.
