Three experimental peer rating forms were developed for use in research in prediction of the aviation training performance criterion--completion/attrition--from the training program for Aviation Warrant Officer Candidates at the U.S. Army Helicopter School. The paper describes the construction of the ratings, the 'Potential Aviator Rating' forms, and compares the validity of these forms with the Contemporary Evaluation Form (CEF) used by the U.S. Army Helicopter School. The basic comparison involved validity between absolute scale and ranks. The original validity coefficients were sufficiently high to anticipate that the use of peer ratings may increase predictive accuracy in a multivariate system. (Author)
