This study, conducted by Parsons Brinkerhoff, was funded by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. The purpose of this study is to analyze Thailand's market potential for containerized rail freight, examine the capacity and facilities of existing rail networks, and prioritize improvements and investments that will accomodate anticipated cargo handling and rail traffic. The focus of the study is on Customers, Competition, Costs, and Profitability with a concentration in the following areas; Market Analysis; Terminal Location and Conceptual Design; Railroad Operational Analysis; and Economic and Financial Analysis.
